"A quick note of thanks for getting Ian to dig that test pit for us last Thursday evening. I was later than expected, 5:45, but he understood and was ready to go when I got there. I know these are very small jobs but we appreciate your attention and consistent professional attitude towards your work. That's why we have been using Latham for the past five years." Robert Nystrom, Adapt Engineering
Featured Project | HSW Builders - Les Schwab HQ in Juniper Ridge

The second week of mass excavation has been completed at the new Les Schwab headquarters. The mobile crusher has begun crushing onsite materials to be used for the building pad and parking lots. Four drills have been brought in to drill thru the hard rock and blast. Blasted rock will then be processed into base rock and fill as needed.

2007 Largest Commercial Projects | Westmar Business Center
This is the 5th project Latham Excavation has been contracted to do for RiverWest Builders, LLC and looks to be the best to date. This three building complex was started in February 2007 and will be completed in September 2007. Latham Excavation utilized their onsite crushing capabilities to maximize production and minimize traffic and onsite congestion due to the central location of this project. “Latham Excavation’s use of onsite materials kept our project costs down and our completion date on time. Latham’s consistency and dependability have been proven over and over on each of our projects.” said Project Manager Jerry Moore.

Sustainability | Shevlin Ridge Phase 6

This is the sixth of eight phases for the Shevlin Ridge Developers. Latham Excavation has been there since Phase 1. This Phase required a major grade change for the road grade to be correct. In order to keep costs low and use less fuel, Latham Excavation brought in their crusher to recycle the materials and re-use to backfill trenches and curbs.

Material is fed into the hopper, crushed to the spec desired and then comes out the end belt ready to be utilized as backfill material. "The crusher has allowed us to maximize production, while lowering costs for our customers." says Al McGuire, commercial manager at Latham Excavation.

Shevlin Ridge Phase 5

Operators install hubs for grade check.

Phase 5 was completed in the summer of 2006. Truck drivers spread rock based on grades and then the grader comes to dial in the final grade before asphalt is put down.

MEA - Marshall Erdman & Associates - Bend Surgical
This is the second jobsite Latham Excavation has been contracted to do for MEA; the first being the orthopedic building to the west of St. Charles Hospital. Bend Surgical imported over 5,000 yards of structural fill material and recycled over 8,000 yards of onsite material to achieve the desired grades for the project. Utilizing many different machines effectively allowed Latham Excavation to finish the subgrade before their deadline.
